Hey all,
It's Joseph here. I was wonder if it matters if I string my drednaut acoustic with
acoustic or electric sstrings? I know i'll get a brighter sound with the electrics,
but what else will change besides that and the string guage and the like?
Anything I need to be careful of when doing this?
Thanks,
Darth
You might warp the neck, so you'll want to make sure the strings have some stretch.
I think I'd ask the music store before trying it.
This isn't a classical guitar. it's a modern steel-string acoustic, and it does have
a truss rod in the kneck.
I'd love to hear how that sounds. If you use electric strings, can you play it on an audeo profile of yours? Just curious.
Blessings,
Hot Wheels
Yeah, I could. and I actualy went ahead and put the electric strings on the steel-
string acoustic. To describe it, the sound is a bit brighter than I thought it would
be. I kinda like it.
i've actually thought about doing that to my acoustic at times, but I just don't know. all of my guitars need to get strings changed for sure, especially my electric because those strings have been on that thing for almost a year. At some point I'm actually gonna se about tradeing in 3 of my acoustics, my old 12 string fender, an estabon 6, and a second hand elica one that my dad picked up at a pawn shop because I needed something for a last minute show once. If I can get a good deal out of tradeing them I'm gonna se about getting a takamine 12 string, and if I can't find one that has a pinless bridge like I like on my takamine gd20, I'm just gonna see about getting a taylor c e 100
